What We Know Today
Gallants Channel remains an important part of the long-term vision for the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort. Earlier plans and studies describe potential future facilities and economic impact, but project scope, funding, design, construction phases and timelines are subject to continued state planning and approval.
As decisions develop, the Friends is committed to sharing information responsibly and distinguishing between concepts under consideration, approved projects and completed improvements.
A Long-Term Maritime Campus Vision
Historic planning work for Gallants Channel has considered a campus that could complement the Museum’s Front Street properties and expand the ways the Museum serves the public.
