Description
Send us a picture or short video of your maritime themed Halloween decorations and a $10 donation to enter in the Friends of the Museum’s first Maritime Halloween Decorating Contest! Your submission will help support the spirit of Halloween and your donation will help support the Museum’s Education Programs.
Decorate your dog, your boat, your house, or whatever is convenient. Not into the spooky? Go for a fall/harvest style of decorations! This is your chance to show off your decorating skills, even if trick-or-treaters don’t come down your street to admire your work. Show off your skills, virtually visit other decorated sites, and maybe connect with some other spooky enthusiasts. Everyone will be able to vote on their favorite decorations starting now, with the winner announced on October 30.
There is no fee or registration to vote. You can vote once a day through the end of day October 29th.
Please upload your photo/video during the Checkout process (click “Choose File”).
Rules:
- Decorations must include a maritime theme (i.e. shipwrecks, pirates, mermaids, etc.)
- Decorations must be original, we will be reviewing your entries to ensure they were not copied directly from another virtual source.
- Anyone is eligible, you do not need to be a Beaufort (or even North Carolina) resident to enter or vote.
- Decorations MUST BE PG-13. No discriminatory, political or hateful messages allowed; no excessive gore or portrayals of violence allowed.
- If decorating a house, please ensure you are within your local rules and regulations.
- Winner will be determined by number of votes cast by the public.
Prizes: Prizes awarded based on most popular vote to the top three most voted for entries. Winners will receive bragging rights and a Halloween themed ribbon custom made by the Maritime Museum’s Programs Coordinator Christine Brin!
